When Amber would bring them to see us, I would have her call me about 10 minutes from the house. Then I would walk to the gate and wait for them. Again, I wanted them to know that I could not wait to see them. When she would get there I'd be waving and grinning with all my might. Then I'd crawl in the back seat and smooch em up before they could even get to the house. This went on for years. Then one day we went to see them. I had been on the phone with Amber and she knew we were getting close. As Jeff and I got close to their house, guess who was standing on the corner grinning and waving and waiting for us. Oh how my heart sang that day. It's called relationship. The more time and effort we put into a relationship, the more we will get out of it. Don't ever assume someone knows how you feel about them. Just go ahead and tell them. A little effort goes a long way.
I'm grateful for my Smiles. I had extremely good grandparents. I pray I can pass along the love they gave to me to my own babies.
