If Your Sad...

If your sad then don't listen to sad music or watch a sad movie...duh! Get your happy music out and dance a lil. Watch a movie that makes you laugh till you cry. Just don't sit there and woller in it. If your not happy it's nobody's fault but yours. You can blame it on other people all you want to but the truth is you control you. I'm not saying it's always easy to stay happy and upbeat, but it is possible. Trick yourself if you have to, LoL. I'm still not there either but I am better than I used to be...

Proverbs 17:22 says "A merry heart does good, like medicine,[a] But a broken spirit dries the bones."

My grand daughter, Stephanie told me the other day that she likes to hear babies laugh because it makes her happy. Find something that makes you happy, and do it!!!

Being A Hermit....

I spent all day yesterday alone, by choice, locked in the house. I did absolutely nothing all day long. I've been running pretty hard lately, and loving every minute of it. I know that if I get overly tired though I set myself up to let illness in. So I decided yesterday and today I will make myself rest. I decided not to feel bad about it. We have to take care of our bodies too. I have finally realized that things won't stop just because I decide to take a little break, LoL!

I hope you all will try and find some time for yourselves as well. Life is a lot sweeter if your not plum wore out!!

Everything We Need by Tracie Miles

I got this in an email from my sister, Sharon. Thanks for sharing Sis!!

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26 (NIV)
If the term "you are what you eat" were literally true, my son would be a bowl of chocolate ice cream.
Before Michael was old enough to even say ice cream, he loved it. Several years ago, he begged for chocolate ice cream, with bottom lip poked out for sentimental effect. Since I could never resist that adorable face, I pulled the gallon of ice cream out of the freezer.
I pried open the lid only to discover a nearly empty carton. To save time from scooping and scraping, I had Michael eat straight out of the gallon.
A monster was created that day.
Once he discovered that eating out of the carton meant his portion would not be limited to a few scoops, life as he knew it changed. Never again did he ask for ice cream without proposing he just eat out of the gallon.
Michael's desire for unlimited measures of his beloved frozen treat made me ponder how life-changing it is when we crave unlimited portions of God.
In today's key verse, the psalmist refers to God as his "portion." Although he knew he would fail in heart and flesh, giving in to temptations and looking to things or people to meet his needs, He knew God was enough for whatever he needed.
The Lord provides a sufficient portion of strength when we are feeling weak and beaten down. He sustains us when we are anxious, discouraged, frustrated and tired. He promises that when we stumble, He will give us His grace and mercy.
Most importantly, no matter how long we spin our wheels trying to find joy and satisfaction in earthly things, God patiently offers Himself and waits for us to realize that what we really need is a bigger portion of Him.
In Hebrew, the word "portion" is translated as "inheritance" or "allotment." What if we thought of God's portion as our inheritance? Could we embrace the truth that He gives us everything He is; and we can have as much as we desire?
When we come to Jesus with the hungers of our heart, He provides the perfect portion to fill our longings, heal our wounds and meet our unmet needs. When it comes to God and His Word, we can always eat out of the gallon!

Dear Lord, give me a hunger and a thirst for Your Word. I want to crave a daily portion of You and rely on Your provision to meet my every need. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Now This Is Living The Bible

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans, and no shoes.

This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college.

He is brilliant. Kind of profound and very, very bright. He became a Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative church.

They want to dev elop a ministry to the students but are not sure how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt, and wild hair.

The service has already started and so Bill starts down the aisle looking for a seat.

The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.

Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do.

How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.

The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane. All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion.
When the minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just seen, you will never forget."

"Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some people will ever read!"
I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way....
His love is always with you,
His promises are true,
And when we give Hi m all our cares,
You know He will see us through.

Missin'

I think there are two kinds of missin. There's the one you can do something about and the one you can't do anything about.

The one that you cant do anything about pretty much stinks. Either that person lives to far away to make contact with or they have gone on to be with the Lord. Or those folks that don't want contact with you anymore. It takes time and God's healing hand to take care of this kind of missin. Believe me He is the only one who can get you through this. I'm not sure if you get over it or you just learn how to deal with it. I'm thinkin the latter...

Then there is the good kind of missin. You know the missin that you know will be satisfied soon. When you can't wait to see someone again and you know it's just around the corner. Or that you've been seeing em everyday for a while and you had to go home... Ugh Still a good missin though because everything is good between you. Sometimes this missin makes you love em even more...

I don't much like missin at all, either kind to be honest. But I'll take the good missin over the bad missin any day.

If you have someone on your mind why not take the time to text or call them....they might be missin you too!!

The Plant In My Window

I have a little plant in my window that Amber gave me. I noticed that it needed a drink this morning when I was making coffee. I started thinking about how sturdy that little guy is because I don't take very good care of it, yet it survives anyway. Of course it always does better when I do pay attention to it. So you know me....here I go thinking again, haha. I know that I can go long periods of time without reading my bible, without spending time with other believers and well you get my point. However, I thrive, I excel, I get really good if I do spend time listening to God, reading and remembering His Word, sharing with other believers. You see I don't want to just survive. I want to be the very best I can be. I don't want to miss a thing. I want to cause people to know that there is so much more to life than just surviving. I want to prove folks wrong that say as we get older we get slower. That if your dreams don't come true when your young then they won't come true. Oh don't be fooled they will come true if you keep on doing what He asks you to do.

Anyway, if your thirsty then go get a good ole drink of water. You know spend some time with the Lord. He's a very good listener and then if you will be real quiet and real still....you can hear Him answer you!

It Came Alive

It's funny how sometimes after reading a scripture for years it just comes alive to you. I read Proverbs 3:5-6 on a friends FaceBook wall yesterday. It was the Message translation. It absolutely came alive to me. I'm sure I've read it before, but there it was brand new, plain and simple to understand. Sometimes I think its because we just weren't mature enough to understand it. I use the example of wanting my grand babies to have a dually truck. Well they are only 6, 12 & 13, so I obviously can't expect them to have it today. One day though, they will be ready to have it. I think if we don't have what we ask God for maybe it's because we are not quite ready for it. He wants it all for us, but we have to be in a position to receive it and be mature enough to handle it.

Proverbs
5-12 Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
   don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
   he's the one who will keep you on track.
Don't assume that you know it all.
   Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
   your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
   give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
   your wine vats will brim over.
