Why You Want To Leave Me

This is how I feel every time my Smiles leave:

There's a couple at the airport. They are hugging and holding each other as they sob. They are both reassuring each other it will be alright. Then they break into sobs again. This goes on for about 30 minutes. It's so bad that anybody that walks by is immediately saddened by the scene. Finally the airplane taxies to the gate and the passengers start to board. One last round of sobs, then the man says to his wife....I'll see you tomorrow!! LoL

I love having my family close by. I know this move is for their best and I also know that God will help me get through this. I know He will provide quality time for us to be together. I am so very grateful for modern technology so we can keep up with each other in between visits. Praise the Lord for family.

They Pay You For That?

I was reminded again of how very blessed I am this weekend.

We were invited out to PK lake to spend some time with my claimed niece, Cassie. She was there at a family reunion. We made sure that we weren't imposing on their family time. They reassured us the more the merrier. So we floated and sunned for about an hour. Then they invited us to go for a boat ride. How do you pass that up on a hot Texas summer day? We obviously accepted the invitation and felt very spoiled. We go and anchor out and swim and float around the boat for a while. I'm sitting and visiting with on of my new friends. He asks me what do you do? I said I'm a christian country singer and we go all of the country and put on Cowboy Church Services. He said and they pay you for that? Do you do that full time? LoL I said well yes, I don't ask them for money, but we do get offerings.

I started thinking about that. How very blessed I am that I get to go and sing about the One I love the most and still be provided for and I'm able to provide for my family. I don't take even one of you for granted. Thanks to everyone that has ever donated money to this ministry. Thank you for helping us stay on the road, loving on people and telling them about Jesus. I pray abundant blessingS over you!!

This song for me is the most beautiful song in the world. I can remember hearing them sing it at the rodeo when I was a little girl and wishing it was me singing it. It's probably the hardest song in the world to sing though. If you don't start in the right key your busted, LoL

This was a love song that Mark tweaked for me and made it about Jesus and heaven. I loved the lyrics and the tune. I really think you can take any love song and sing it to HIM!!

This is probably the most fun song I've ever sang. It just tells it like it is. The first time I heard it was on XM radio and it was by a contemporary artist. When I went to look for a track to sign it with I found out that Toby Keith was singing it.. Whoohoo

Secret

This was the last song I chose for the "Ordinary Things" project. I was raised in a small town. We used to tease and say what people didn't know they would make up. I grew up thinking that. Now I look back at my town and I see that there was a lot of loving and caring people there. Gordon reminds me a lot of Malakoff. I often think that's why I love it here so much. I do think that people take small town living for granted. How very blessed we are here.

Anyway, this song is about not being so quick to judge. The Lord has been dealing with me about not judging for some time now. Just when I think I have that under control I catch myself doing it again. So let's be quicker to love than condemn.....We don't always know what made them that way!

Ordinary Things

When I was trying to find someone to produce a CD for me I called my claimed brother, Allen Joyner, and asked if he would be interested in helping me. He said I can do better than that. My cousin, Mark Johnson, writes music and produces let me call him. So long story short, I talk to Mark and he asks me if I would like some original songs? I said hmmmm let me think, yeah! LoL Mark sent me about 25 songs that had never been recorded before. Ordinary Things was the first song I listened to. All I could do was cry. The Lord had been telling me over and over since Jeff went to be with the Lord to slow down and enjoy the everyday things. To not take even those little moments on the porch with my gbabies for granted.

My Lil Dog, Marti

Well I kinda feel like I dropped my sucker in the dirt. Nothing life threatening just disappointing I guess. I knew Marti hadn't been acting herself lately. She is after all the perfect dog, for me anyway. So I take her to the vet and tell her all of what's been going on with her. The vet gets that little funny look on her face and I ask her what? She said it sounds like she has diabetes. Really?? I didn't even know a dog could have diabetes, much less my dog.... She said it was common in Schnauzers. She ran the blood test and sure enough she does have it. So now we have to put her on different food and loose some pounds and take insulin shots twice a day.....UGH I'll just be honest, I"M MAD!! My animals fall under the same covenant with God that I do. She should not be sick, period!!!!

Well here's what we are gonna do. We are going on the diet and we are gonna take the insulin until MY God heals her and shows himself strong on our behalf. He promised to perfect those things that concern me and this concerns me.... So if you can believe with me please do and if you can't then please don't worry about it. I believe she's healed in Jesus Name!! Thank you Sir!!!
