Lu and I got up and went to our home church (Silverado Cowboy Church) yesterday morning. It always feels good to be home for a little bit.
When we got there my friend Dave, the pastor, asked me to do the offering and sing a song. It always tickles me to get to be a part and share. Usually its just to sing. He surprised me a little bit with asking me to share about the offering. LOL I told him I would but it would have to be off the cuff, cause that's not something I usually do.
I got up and the Lord gave me something to share about (He always does). Then I sang one of my new songs. While I was singing Lu caught my eye. The look on her face was so precious to me. I could see how proud of me she was. I almost started to cry and had to look away. I hadn't realized how important to me it is for your family to be proud of you. Oh how it made my heart smile.
I don't have to have admiration or compliments or even encouragement, but oh what a kick in the pants it is when I get it..... I'm gonna do what He tells me to do the very best I know how. With or without the encouragement. It just puts gas in my tank to get the confirmation.
If you haven't told your loved ones how proud you are of them lately....maybe you should.
