We were on Young Pro Tour that year before the 9/11 catastrophe. I felt like the Lord wanted me to teach and encourage the kids about respecting and appreciating our FREEDOM here in the US. All summer at every opportunity I did that. He had even giving me a song to sing by Wynona Judd. Jeff tweaked the words of course and it was a powerful tool.
We had our living quarters horse trailer parked out under some trees at Paul Tierney's place in South Dakota when we got word. We didn't have any TV or radio reception there. We really didn't think we had a phone signal there, but one of our Young Pro kids got thru to us. It felt like it was a horrible movie and that it couldn't possibly be true. We jumped in the truck and headed to town. We found a little cafe with a TV. We sat and watched it over and over in horror. It was truly to hard to believe.
I am proud and grateful to be an American!! I can't tell you how honored I am that men and women fight for my freedom! It all goes back to one man though...JESUS! He is the one that started it all. HE GAVE IT ALL....
Thank you to all who have given and continue to give at home and abroad. I'm humbled and grateful for your sacrifices!!
