Every since Jeff passed away I feel like the Lord has been trying to tell me to slow down and smell the roses. Stop hustling around quite so fast. Do those things I've always wanted to do.
For me it seems its the simple everyday things that I enjoy the most. Watching my Smiles (grand babies) play, being out on the tractor, Thanksgiving dinner with my family, maybe sitting on the porch with a good cup of coffee or just being in the same room with my family Every time one of my Smiles has a ball game and I might be tired. The thought comes to me, they might not always want me to be there. Get up and go makes those memories. One day they will remember that they were important enough to you for you to be there. Those are the things that turn into memories. They are what matter most at the end of the journey, when every precious moment is a song that you sing. Hold to those ordinary things!! Love y'all, Carol/MJ I'm just a plain ole country girl. Raised in the small town of Malakoff, Texas. I could barely talk on the phone and I still struggle with that. If you would have ever told me I would be writing my own blog, I would have lost my breath laughin.. Well looka here. Looks like God can use a bashful country girl to carry HIS message.
My goal for this blog is to daily encourage you. To show you that God can use anybody. The only thing special about me is HIM! I know that it would be very easy for me to be a hermit. I enjoy being at home and spending time with my family. BUT, I know that I know He has much more than that for me to accomplish. So here I set spilling my guts to y'all cause I want you to see yourself the way HE does. I truly want to prove to y'all that just because you might be older, bashful, skinny, fat, mean, etc God can help you overcome anything if you'll let Him. Go for your dreams and He will help you if it glorifies Him. I sure do love y'all!! Carol/MJ Jer 33:3 I like to share about what God has done for me. Sometimes I'm concerned that people think I'm bragging. I'm not bragging on me I'm bragging on HIM! I don't have anything to brag about. I am no different than any of you. I just try really hard to do what He ask me to do.
The Lord has blessed me with an amazing family, wonderful friends, my health, my home, the community I live in. my air conditioner, LOL .....I could go on and on and on. If you begin to count your blessings, I bet you'll realize you have a lot more than you thought!!! DON'T FORGET TO THANK HIM!! Love and blessings, Carol/MJ Psm 138:8 I was thinkin again....LoL
Love is the most powerful force known to man. If God hadn't loved us He wouldn't have sent His only Son to die for us. You know how I've been talking about adding a touch of love to everything. It really does work. I was talking to my Girlie and I said Love is a weapon. I had never really thought about it that way before. Isn't it just like Him to give us a weapon so simple to use and something we enjoy. I looked up the definition of weapon: something used to gain advantage: something used as a way of getting an advantage in a situation. Perfect...we just now have to use it!! To be good at anything we have to practice. So when things are going wild around you, just stop and mentally decided to add the love to it. Whatever has been going on in your life, I challenge you to add a touch of love and see what happens.... Blessings and I sure do love y'all!! MJ Psm 138:8 I remember when we first started doing Cowboy Ministry I felt like the Lord told me "Don't you go out there and tell them how bad they are. You tell them how GOOD I AM"! "He don't care where you've been.... He just cares about "WHERE YOUR GOIN??" I've tried to do that for the past 18 years now.
Wow could it really have been that long ago??? Geez I'm getting young...LOL We have to quit judging folks and just love em right where they are. He told us to be fishers of men not cleaners. I guarantee you if you will add a little touch of love to anything you do, it will open the door for God to take care of things. We don't have to fix it all, we just have to allow Him too!! Love y'all! Me Psm 138:8 Life is what You make it. I'm not saying things are always gonna be easy by any means. I still have days that aren't wonderful. I still say that's my choice, even though at the time I might not think so, LOL!!
We can blame other people or things for the things that aren't right in our lives, but we are the only one who can change them..... Stop whining and get up off your lil butt and do something about it. And don't blame God for it either. He gave us all He had to make it right. We have to use His Word to overcome our problems. Ok then....LOL Love y'all bunches...Y'all have a great day too!! MJ Psm 138:8 Seems like ever since Jeff passed away the Lord has been teaching me about relationships. At first I thought what the heck Lord, I don't even have a husband now. He probably thought so....LOL
I have often wondered how two people can go from not being able to breath without each other, to can't stand to be in the same room with each other. I really feel like He showed me that it's because we stop courting. When we first fall in love all we think about is each other. Trying to think of ways to impress each other. Always taking up for each other. Complimenting, touching, sitting together, holding hands, little notes and anything else we can think of to please the other person. Then life gets busy. We have kids and we have to pay the bills. Then one day you look up and you haven't had anytime together. Relationships take a lot of tender loving care to be successful. Don't stop courting the one you love. Don't assume they know how you feel. Remind them every day how much you care. Love y'all!! Have a great day too!! MJ Psm 138:8 I am so grateful to live in this country. Thank you to everyone who has given ALL for our freedom. Thank you to all that continue to give. Thank you Sir for our FREEDOM!! The Pledge of Allegiance of the United States is an oath of loyalty to the national flag and the Republic of the United States of America, originally composed by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and formally adopted by Congress as the national pledge in 1942. The Pledge has been modified four times since its composition, with the most recent change adding the words "under God" in 1954. Congressional sessions open with the recital of the Pledge, as do government meetings at local levels, meetings held by the National Exchange Club, Knights of Columbus, Royal Rangers, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the USA, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Freemasons, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Toastmasters International and their concordant bodies, as well as other organizations. According to the United States Flag Code, the Pledge of Allegiance reads:[1] I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all. Also according to the Flag Code, the Pledge "should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present and not in uniform may render the military salute. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute".[1] I've had a lot of first since my husband, Jeff, passed away 2 1/2 years ago. Some of them I took kickin and a screamin, LOL!!
My Lil Lulu, Hannah, likes to stretch me when it comes to fashion. I told her she thinks I am here Granny Barbie. haha When I was growing up, real cowgirls never would have even thought about wearing cowboy boots and dresses. Well guess what? Last weekend for the very first time in my entire life I wore a dress and boots. I kinda like it now. Don't be afraid of change. Sometimes God has something better in store. We have to be willing to let Him guide us. It's amazing what you think about when your at the hotel and sitting still!! Love y'all and I hope you have a GREAT day too! Blessings, MJ Jer 33:3 |
